About Us

Welcome to the portal of the Dutch University Presses collaboration, a consortium of forward-thinking, open-access academic publishers. We represent a vibrant and cooperative community of university presses across the Netherlands, united by a shared commitment to democratizing knowledge through diamond open access—where neither authors nor readers face financial barriers.

Our mission is to provide high-quality scholarly content that is accessible to everyone. We believe that in a world where access to knowledge is increasingly vital, open-access publishing plays a critical role in making research and academic works available to the widest possible audience.

As a collaborative network, we strive to increase the visibility and impact of our member presses. We work together on initiatives such as creating a shared catalogue infrastructure, exploring a national open-access book platform, and collaborating on key areas like dissemination, metadata management, peer review, and innovative business models. We also support projects that promote open textbooks, cutting-edge digital publications, and transparent academic publishing practices.

This website marks the beginning of our journey to create a central hub of information about our consortium, its member presses, and our many collaborative projects. Together, we aim to shape the future of open-access publishing in the Netherlands and beyond, ensuring that knowledge remains a public good for all.

Thank you for joining us in this mission!
